Facilities

Here at Saville House we have stabling for over 40 horses, comprising of the original ‘upper yard’ with stables which are of an original brick construction and the ‘lower yard’ which has the more conventional timber stables. In the centre of the lower yard we have a ménage and horse walker

As part of the preparation of a horse for it’s first run, we often use the starting stalls which are located on the Bury side of the gallops. These form an invaluable part of the training programme

We have the use of over 2500 acres of gallops in Newmarket. These training Grounds, often referred to as the ‘Heath’, are split over both sides of the town - Bury side to the east and Racecourse side to the west. These incorporate over 50 miles of turf gallops and 14 miles of ‘all weather’ gallops. We are ideally situated half way between both sides of the heath.

No area of turf on the Heath is used more than once in any year.  Fresh ground is provided each day as appropriate.

Schooling

There is also a gallop comprising of National Hunt Hurdles which we use to school some of our dual purpose horses.
